TESTIMONIALS AND THANK YOU LETTERS

July 2017 and 2019 Recipient

Dumas-McAuley-Robinson Scholarship Fund,

I would like to express my gratitude for being the recipient of the Dumas-McAuley-Robinson Scholarship. The committee’s consideration and generosity of family members helped defray some of my college tuition fees.  I am extremely grateful and will continue my journey in education.  In May 2020, I graduated with a bachelor’s Degree in public health. I am currently taking additional prerequisite courses to ensure my options for acceptance into dental school are even greater.

I am fortunate to be a member of the DMR families because of the love and nurturing that I have grown up with over the years.  It is the character that our families are built on that has helped me to succeed in many aspects of this journey. I have witnessed the encouragement of elders and the educational successes of other family members.  I am very proud to continue the legacy by which this committee was established and I hope to keep the tradition moving forward by inspiring others to pursue their educational endeavors.

I feel honored to have been chosen for this award and I am blessed to have such an enormous support system.

Sincerely,

Michaela McAuley

July 2015 Recipient

Dear Family,

I am writing to thank you for your generous $500 scholarship. I am very appreciative to have been selected for your scholarship. I am an Agribusiness major at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am currently a second semester sophomore carrying sixteen credit hours and plan to graduate in the spring of 2018. After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in agricultural marketing and sales.

Thanks to you, the burden of having to worry about how I was going to purchase textbooks and other miscellaneous educational items has been lifted off of my shoulders and I can focus on the most vital aspect of school, learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle Davis
